WHEN a delegation of senior Queensland politicians visited Moscow on a trade mission, their guide was chatty and humorous in a Russian sort of way.
As they approached the impressive Lubyanka HQ of successive Russian security apparatus, he mentioned conspiratorially it had a room with “the best view in Moscow”.
Pressed, he said it was in the basement, to which their surprise was obvious.
“From there you can see all the way to Siberia!”, he explained.
