THANKING VICTORIAN VETERANS WITH COST-OF-LIVING RELIEF
If re-elected Andrews Labor Government will thank Victorian veterans and their families for their profound contribution to our state and nation by introducing the Victorian Veterans Card, helping them with the cost of living.
There are more than 90,000 veterans in Victoria. Labor will recognise their service and sacrifice – particularly younger veterans who aren’t eligible for the Commonwealth’s Gold Card program – with $37 million for the Victorian Veterans Card, delivered through the Service Victoria app.
It’s an investment that builds on Labor’s existing record when it comes to backing our veterans and their families – upgrading local RSLs, helping to deliver the National Vietnam Veterans Museum on Phillip Island, and creating new opportunities for veterans on our Big Build and across the public sector.
The Victorian Veterans Card will entitle veterans to a $100 discount on the registration of one vehicle, as well as free public transport on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
The Card will also offer free trailer and caravan registration and free fishing and boating licences, encouraging veterans to participate in outdoor recreation and connect with their friends and families.
On top of the discounts, the Card will give veterans access to dedicated employment programs to help them find careers after finishing their period of service, making sure the transition to new work is as smooth as possible.
That sounds about right for the government. TAKE hundreds/ ruin businesses/ stop and arrest people because they wanted to protest and they give you a pittance in return. Great. I THINK NOT!!!!
WOW!!!! A Gold Clad Labor Promise from Dictator Andrews. What a privilege this would be if only it was believable. That bloke couldn’t lie straight in bed. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could kick a house brick. No way would I risk my sanity by voting for this creation and his mob of Jolly Thieves.
