SCOOTAVILLE 2023 – A FUND RAISER FOR LEGACY

This year, Scootaville, our fundraiser event for Legacy, will leave Ipswich on Thursday the 24th of August and arrive in Townsville on the 8th Sept, travelling via and overnighting in Dalby, Roma, Charleville, Blackall, Longreach, Winton, Cloncurry, Richmond, Hughenden, Charters Towers and then Townsville. Ipswich City Council has graciously allowed us to spend two nights in their Corporate Centre (22/23 August) where we’ll be introduced to our scooters, and our bedding and our fellow travellers and Councils all up the line have been kind enough to provide us with accommodation facilities.

We have a few things planned, Merv Hughes has agreed to join us, he will fly into Charleville and stay with us until we get to Longreach and the RAAF hot air balloon will be flown at Ipswich on the 24th Aug before we leave. We’ve arranged entertainment for every night we’re away so apart from raising funds for Legacy, you’re sure to have a good time.

We’re restricted in numbers due to the availability of accommodation so if you’d like to be a part of this great adventure, please go here https://www.radschool.org.au/magazines/Vol79/Page17.htm#Going – and if you haven’t already, fill in the form and get it back to us ASAP. (Fill it in anyway, that way you’ll be sure you have.)

There are two ways you can come, as a Rider, (you will need a current Motor Cycle licence) or as a Supporter. Costs are: Rider $1,000 (less if you’ve been before) Supporter ($650). For that cost, we provide the transport, scooter, riding jacket, helmet, bedding, t-shirts, cap, breakfast and some meals. You’ll be responsible for your return journey from Townsville. We have accommodation arranged in Townsville until Monday morning 11 Sept.

So, please don’t delay, get the form in, and we’ll then send you another to get your jacket, helmet, t-shirt size, order your bedding etc.

If you are not sure what Scootaville is all about you can read the story of last year’s event here https://www.radschool.org.au/magazines/Vol79/Page5.htm
