RAAF Amberley air show – CANCELLED
By Brian Hartigan
The Royal Australian Air Force has officially announced that the Ipswich Amberley Air Tattoo scheduled for next weekend, 29-30 October 2022, has been cancelled because of the recent heavy rainfalls in south-east Queensland.
In a web posting, RAAF said “Unfortunately, the grassed areas for car parking and spectator viewing areas are waterlogged and the conditions are not safe for parking or spectator attendance – and safety is paramount”.
“Even if it doesn’t rain in the coming days, the grassed areas will not dry out sufficiently in time for the Air Tattoo,” the official web site says.
“As per the refund and cancellation policy – all Ipswich Amberley Air Tattoo ticket holders will have their tickets refunded in full.
“Please note that refunds will occur automatically via the Civic Centre Box office.
“Due to the large volume of transactions that are required to be processed, this may take up to 30 days.”
CONTACT was only alerted to this cancellation by a fan, after which we confirmed the details through a Google search, leading to this official announcement.
