Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe labels Queen ‘coloniser’ in parliamentary oath

WHAT HOPE RECONCILIATION with people like Greens LIDIA THORPE in the Senate.

This wannabe inner city identifier would have less than 1% of the dignity of QUEEN ELIZABETH II..

Mocking the institution which gives her a voice.

Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe has branded the Queen as a “coloniser” while reciting the oath of allegiance mandatory for all parliamentarians.

When called to do the oath, Senator Thorpe stood and walked to the front of the chamber with her fist raised, which she kept up while reading the oath.

“I sovereign, Lidia Thorpe, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will be faithful and I bear true allegiance to the colonising Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” she said.

Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe has been forced to take a second oath of allegiance in the Senate.

Senator Thorpe was met with yells and outcry from the chamber, and Senate President Sue Lines reminded her she was required to recite the oath “as printed on the card”, which she did on the second reading before signing.

It was not the first time the outspoken senator had labelled the Queen a “coloniser”, having also done so in June.

Senator Thorpe at the time said the “colonisation of this country is coming to an end” and declared her intention as an Indigenous woman to “infiltrate” the senate.

Greens Senator disregards rejection of monarchy to accept massive parliament wage Incoming

Fellow Indigenous Senator Jacinta Price in June dismissed Senator Thorpe’s comments as “childish” and “divisive” and said she needed to recognise her privilege.

What a pathetic person she is. How the hell was she ever elected to the Senate? How many more like her are in the Senate?

How juvenile, what a waste of a senate seat, what a waste of an opportunity for a productive senator to represent the state of Victoria.
Time the commonwealth parliament became unicameral, time we abolished the senate, it is a horse & buggy institution irrelevant in the age of I-Phones and jet powered aircraft.

Young bull says to old bull, “Look man, a paddock full of cows. Let’s run down and do a few” Old bull says, “I have a better idea …. Let’s take our time, stroll down and do the lot!” Ms Thorpe, learn the ropes and how the system works then use your talents to achieve your goals. To do this you need POWER P= Be Passionate; O= Open your eyes and ears, listen; W= know Who you are; E= Enjoy what you do; R= Respect (for others). At the moment your only at “P”

To see this pathetic wanabe perform the way she did in our Parliament and was allowed to continue to be sworn in is an indictment on our system to allow her to remain in the chamber without consequences. So typical in modern Australia there are no consequences for breaking our established laws and protocols, this is essentially treasonous behavior.

I think this is absolutely disgusting. How can a person be elected into our democratic system not accept the basic elements of our constitution. I strongly agree with another senator from the same walk of life that Lidia’s actions are very divisive in a time, where in our country we need to be VERY much together.
