Exercise TRIDENT 2022

Exercise TRIDENT 2022 is a bilateral training activity between the ADF and the SAF to test our combined ability to project a land force from vessels at sea to shore, manoeuvre inland and secure an objective. Royal Australian Navy Landing Helicopter Dock HMAS Adelaide and Republic of Singapore Navy Ships RSS Endurance and Persistence will embark ground forces from the Australian Army’s 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and 3rd Battalion, Singapore Guards, in Townsville and transport them to Shoalwater Bay Training Area. The training is part of the wider training activity Exercise Wallaby, occurring in Australia during 2022. Singapore is a close and highly capable defence partner of Australia in Southeast Asia and The 2020 Treaty on Military Training and Training Area Development is enhancing and expanding training opportunities for SAF personnel in Australia.
