Children show us peace is better destination than war.
Next Tuesday Australians will gather to mark the annual day of commemoration for our war dead.
Visit any school and you will discover a multicultural mix of children, Australians, British, Scots, Irish, French, Belgians, Greeks, Italians, Americans, Canadians and New Zealanders among others.
You will also discover children of Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, Egyptian, Syrian and Lebanese heritage as well as Germans, Turkish and Japanese.
Whether these countries were once our friend or foe, children rarely hold old grudges because they identify from their school environment as Australians.
