Fire crews are monitoring a fire in a wind turbine just west of Goulburn in the NSW southern tablelands.
The Rural Fire Service says the fire is burning at the top of the turbine at Breadalbane and out of reach of firefighting resources.
RFS spokesman Greg Allen says crews have been at the scene since around 6am and there is no immediate threat to surrounding properties.
“Crews have also created an exclusion zone around the base of that turbine and monitoring for any grass fires that may occur,” Mr Allen said.
“The fire is contained though and its likely crews will be on the scene for some time today.”
Mr Allen said power to the turbine had been cut in what was an unusual call-out for fire crews.
“At this time of year RFS crews and fire agencies are most likely dealing with grass and bushfires,” he said.
